Installing the Tailgate Cable with EZ-Down

To ensure proper installation of the tailgate cable with your EZ-Down system, follow these steps to avoid binding or tangling:

1. Guide the tailgate cable as you tuck it into the rounded direction, keeping it clear of the EZ-Down mechanism.
2. After installing the EZ-Down, close the tailgate slowly to ensure the cable bends toward the body of the truck and stays away from the EZ-Down system.
3. You may need to guide the cable a few times to ensure it follows the correct path.

For quicker setup, you can tweak the cable by pinching it at the bend point with your hand. This helps create a memory in the cable, so it naturally follows the correct direction over time.

Additional Tips:

• Only one EZ-Down should be installed, and it should be placed on the driver’s side of the tailgate.
• When installing, you may be instructed to turn the bolt a few times to lock the anchor. If the ball stud doesn’t seem long enough, turn the anchor bolt adjuster an additional 2 turns to ensure proper threading.
